Being provided a user story and daily journey map, I was asked to design an iPhone app that makes a section of my users journey more enjoyable. My user, Josh, is a young professional working in Minneapolis. He enjoys bird-watching, but has limited time in his schedule to practice this. Below is the journey map with the area of focus highlighted.
The apps goal is to show Josh restaurants that are in walking distance, so on his lunch break he can track and find birds during his walk to the restaurant. The app shows what birds have already been found that day from other users so he can look out for those. Below are the task analysis’ for the app.
Below, branding is represented. Defining and understanding the characteristics of the app was a primary goal, and influenced the rest of the style.
The screens below show how searching for restaurants and bird watching can be integrated together. Taking pictures and contributing to the community can earn rewards around town. You can also see statistics on what birds were found that week/year/month.
